CFMA Annual Meeting in Scottsdale: Building Stronger Teams Through Fun, Communication, and Community Impact

Todd Davis | June 12, 2026

Todd and Marsha Davis recently had the privilege of engaging the leadership teams of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) during their Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. As facilitators and leadership trainers for CFMA’s nationally recognized Spring Creek Leadership Program, Todd and Marsha brought the conference theme of “One Team” to life through powerful, engaging experiences.

The TEAM Foundation: Fun, Communication, Cooperation, and Collaboration

Todd and Marsha shared how the concept of TEAM — Together Everyone Achieves More — begins with a foundation of:

  • Fun
  • Communication
  • Cooperation
  • Collaboration

These principles are the cornerstone of their book, Fun at Work*, which demonstrates how organizations can create stronger cultures, improve communication, and build authentic teams through meaningful engagement and participation

Mix & Meet: Networking, Teamwork, and Community Impact

Graduates of the Spring Creek Leadership Program came together for a special Mix & Meet experience that combined networking, teamwork, and community impact. Participants assembled care packages through the Pack a Bag for Schools and Shelters program, providing much-needed supplies for local organizations serving youth and families.

This type of volunTEAMism creates valuable connections at meetings by encouraging attendees to interact with sponsors and exhibitors while supporting a worthy cause.

Build a Bike for Title I Youth: Strengthening Teamwork Through Community Service

The leadership teams also rolled up their sleeves for a Build a Bike for Title I Youth activity. Teams combined:

  • Assembly skills
  • Communication
  • Creativity
  • Collaboration

While building bicycles that will be donated to local children. The excitement continued with the always-popular Slow Motion Race, where teams tested their newly assembled bikes in a fun and memorable challenge
